ROADMAP

Building a Future Worth Sharing

Our roadmap, “Building a future worth sharing”, drives us to lead responsibly and create a legacy that transcends generations.

Through our ESG pillars – Environmental, Social, and Governance – we turn this commitment into concrete actions that drive change and reinforce our dedication to building a future worth sharing.

Commitment with the environment

Ron Barceló

Since 2016, Ron Barceló has implemented the RB360 Sustainability Code, minimizing reliance on fossil fuels and achieving nearly 90% of its energy from renewable sources.

This program, based on the pillars of Land, Water, Territory, and Air, guides its actions to reduce environmental impact across all operations.

Thanks to these initiatives, it became the first rum in the world to be certified as Carbon Neutral, to hold the ISO14067 certification, and to have the Bilan Carbone®️ license.

GRUPO VINÍCOLA DEL Marqués de Vargas

The Marqués de Vargas Winery, located in Logroño, has earned the prestigious Wineries for Climate Protection certification from the Federación Española del Vino (FEV) [Spanish Wine Federation], highlighting its commitment to sustainability and the fight against climate change.

This distinction acknowledges its efforts in energy efficiency, renewable energy, water management, waste and emissions reduction. Notable initiatives include the installation of solar panels, efficient lighting and climate control technology, recycling policies, and an innovative barrel maintenance system using electromagnetic waves. Additionally, it has expanded green areas and plantations to reduce its carbon footprint.

Sustainable procurement policy

At Varma, all our suppliers are certified through a rigorous process that ensures compliance with high sustainability standards.

This process includes the requirement of a responsible sustainability declaration, covering key commitments: respect for human and labor rights, environmental protection, avoiding testing on animals or living beings, and the use of sustainable materials that meet European quality standards.

Additionally, the presentation of quality tests or raw material certifications is required when necessary. We encourage the minimization of plastics and promote a policy of responsible repackaging.
